“Kanikapila In Kailua”

Hawaiian Music Series Continues to Showcase the Best in Authentic Island Music by Hawaii’s Top Musicians

Kailua has established itself as THE place on O‘ahu for free Hawaiian music from some of the Islands’ best-known musicians with the popular “Kanikapila In Kailua” music series.

“Kanikapila In Kailua” takes place on one Saturday each month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the parking garage near Whole Foods Market in Kailua Town. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own beach chairs, grab their favorite ono food from Kailua’s many great eateries, and sit back and enjoy true Hawaiian music by the Island’s top performers.

My wife and I (and all our out-of-state visitors) make it a point to attend these wonderful events. For years now, we’ve been able to not only enjoy the mastery of Hawaii’s most talented musicians but to meet and “talk story” with them as well. A big mahalo to Kawika Kahiapo, his many friends, and to the Castle Foundation!
