The Harold K.L. Castle Foundation is pleased to offer ten grants of up to $2,500 each on a competitive basis in support of Makerspaces in public schools and libraries located in Windward, Oahu. The Maker Movement inspires students to take risks, be messy, and design solutions to a range of real and conceptual challenges. We are excited to support efforts to increase STEM literacy on the Windward side through the creation or expansion of Makerspaces based within public schools and public libraries. Makerspaces provides students with do-it-yourself opportunities in arts and crafts, technology, design and fabrication, and simple engineering.
This small grant opportunity falls within the Foundation’s efforts to dramatically increase the number of youth in Windward Oahu that complete college and attain post-college employment success, with particular emphasis in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers. Additional resources, information and the grant application itself are contained within the attached document.
