“Kanikapila In Kailua”
Hawaiian Music Series Continues to Showcase the Best in Authentic Island Music by Hawaii’s Top Musicians
Kailua has established itself as THE place on O‘ahu for free Hawaiian music from some of the Islands’ best-known musicians with the popular “Kanikapila In Kailua” music series.
The monthly celebrations of Hawaiian music and culture have presented Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winning artists such as Kuana Torres Kahele, Raiatea Helm and Sean Naauao among many other musicians and entertainers.
“We are grateful to Kawika Kahiapo, co-creator of this amazing Hawaiian music series, which has made the Windward side THE place for authentic Island music,” said Terry George, Harold K.L. Castle Foundation President and CEO. “Kawika brings together the best musical talent for the enjoyment not only of Kailua residents, but of Hawaiian music-lovers from across O‘ahu. For Hawaiian music, the Windward side has become no ka oi!”
“Kanikapila In Kailua” takes place on one Saturday each month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the parking garage near Whole Foods Market in Kailua Town. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own beach chairs, grab their favorite ono food from Kailua’s many great eateries, and sit back and enjoy true Hawaiian music by the Island’s top performers.
